GENERAL CONDITIONS OF USE
The use of the University of Angers (UA) photo library implies compliance with these General Conditions of Use (GCoU) as well as with all applicable laws and regulations and in compliance with any third-party rights.
You must review the GCoUs and, if they are likely to be updated, check them regularly.
The AU Photo Library provides the public, employees or partners of the institution with a set of photographs to illustrate writings (press articles, Internet pages, reports or dissertations, presentation materials...) or communication tools (posters, flyers...) that are directly related to the AU and do not damage its image.
The photos were taken by professional AU photographers or chosen by AU departments and components.
Access to content
Outside the "Free Access" area of this photo library, image files can only be downloaded after login (via the ID and password used for the AU digital counter for staff and students, or after signing up for the photo library). The download procedures specific to each user profile are explained in the "Home" page appearing after login.
Your login and password are strictly personal and confidential.
In the event of non-compliance with one or more of the obligations of these GCoUs, the AU reserves the right to terminate your access to the Photo Library, including the right to immediately suspend or close your account.
Conditions of use of the images
You are authorized to download the visuals on this site only if you expressly and in advance accept the following clauses:
- systematically mention the photo credit "University of Angers / Name of the photographer" next to or on the photographs, for each use, reproduction and representation of the latter, regardless of the medium;
- not to modify or divert the photo, in order not to make any illegal use of these photographs. Under no circumstances may any comments or captions that are included with the reproduction or representation of the images harm the image and reputation of the subject represented;
- not to transfer these photographs and the related rights to third parties, whether free of charge or not;
- not to operate, reproduce or represent these photographs, on any medium whatsoever, in a commercial context;
- comply with all indications and restrictions specified in the captions of the photographs in the photo library.
End date of use
Each photo is subject to a copyright termination date specified in the caption. It is strictly forbidden to use these images after this deadline even if you have downloaded them before.
The AU shall not be liable for any damage, direct or indirect, resulting from the use of the photo library or from the total or partial inability to use it, due in particular to technical maintenance operations or a technical problem of any nature whatsoever.
The AU undertakes to remove from the photo library any image that would infringe copyright and/or a person's image rights.
If you believe that any part of the content infringes your intellectual property rights or image rights, it is your responsibility to notify the AU (Communication Department: firstname.lastname@example.org).

Any photograph contained in the AU Photo Library is the exclusive property of the AU or third parties, copyright holders who have authorized the AU to disclose it.
Any use of these photographs in breach of the above, and more generally of the rights of the AU and its photographers, is prohibited and constitutes an offense of counterfeiting, punishable by three years' imprisonment and a fine of 300,000 € (Intellectual Property Code, articles L 335-1 et seq.).
